One of the highlights of the Calgary Stampede is the fact that there are 11—yes 11!—nights of fireworks. The display is all part of the annual Grandstand Show down at Stampede Park, and its finale includes about five minutes worth of fireworks which can be seen around the city. Here are the best spots to enjoy the spectacle, which kicks off around 10:45 p.m. every night.
On the grounds
There is no question that the best place to watch the fireworks is in Stampede Park, and it doesn’t matter where on the grounds you are. If you’re lucky enough to have tickets to the Grandstand show, you’ll be torn between watching the talented performers on stage or the bright show overhead. If you’re not at the show, try to time it so you’re on the SkyRide or Ferris wheel when the fireworks start, for an uninterrupted, birds-eye view.
